FX5950vR9800xt with a few 'new' benchies

3D Xtreme looks at the two cards in a few benchies, including Battlefield Vietnam, and NHL 2004 and Tiger Woods 2004.

Doesn't really specify if the FX is an Ultra or not, but assume it may not be, as there are two varianst of the 380. Wish they'd put the clock speeds down.

Main attraction for me is the EA titles, as they are very rarely reviewed (not BV, but NHL and TW).

i realy like how they put their personal opinions of how the cards played, as well as teh benchmark numbers

if a card is spiking from 25-350 fps, it will even out high , but obviuosly that wont be as good as a card that goes steady at 90fps with very little dips in performance

I wonder how did 9800XT managed no performance hit on NHL2004 when AA/AF were enabled......

i like the fact that they analyse not only the average fps but also the performance drop....

Athlon 2700xp+ (oc: 3200xp+ with 200fsb) , Radeon 9800pro (oc: 410/370) , 512mb pc3200 (3-3-3-2), Asus A7N8X-X

Nice review. Thx for the link. I sure would like to see R420 and NV40 mixed in there. Soon huh. Yes, UT2004 was good to see an explanation as choosing the higher average fps gave worse gameplay and below 30fps lows.

Aren't all FX5950's the ultra? Do they make a FX5950 non ultra. I've also only seen the leadtek 380 sold as an ulta FX5950. Anyway i could be wrong, but I thought the FX5900NU was the top non-ultra.
