FX6300 build comparison

they are both priced the same, which is better?

The second build is better, at least for gaming. r7 260x is a DDR5 1GB/2GB card. In any version it's better than the 7730 card.

Of the two yes the second one. The first one has a motherboard that does not support that processor. and the 7730 is a bit of a loser when it comes to gaming, while the 7790/260x is about what the xbox1 has.

You could even drop the 550 psu to a cx430 by corsair and place that additional money on a GPU, maybe get into a 650ti boost or possibly a good deal on a 7850 as they are being phased out.

It's a quality motherboard, feel free to overclock your 6300 if you are thinking of getting a new cooler for it..

both motherboards have old chipsets and they aren't suitable for overclocking if you're planning to do so

That board is completely fine if you wish to overclock.

Honestly, at this point in the game, they use the same sockets, and they are just too damn close in price to not recommend...

If you act quickly, its LITERALLY 10$ more to get the 8 core.

Also, do NOT get the 7730 lol. It's discontinued for a reason. The 7750 is FAR better and costs the same. The 7770 is another step forward for not much more money.

basically what you're going for. 613.75$ with a 7790.

Lets look at a couple tweaks...

Just swapping the cpu though...

Much higher performance based on cpu alone... ESPECIALLY when games are going to get optimized for 8 cores and mantle gets released.

Not necessarily, its mostly a good way to keep yourself from "upgrading" for at least a solid year. The 8320 can be overclocked and will provide stellar performance.

couple things for you to consider

1) you don't need close to 700w. 500w is plenty. I only recommend the 650 one because the cost isn't any higher
2) you dont need "fast" ram, not with that setup anyway. Get cheaper, slower ram. With gaming and standard operations, theres almost no gains at all with faster ram (like 1% change between 800mhz and 1600mhz, and no im not joking, go look at some benchmarks)
3) you don't need a super expensive case to get good performance. The one I linked kicks butt and is fairly inexpensive
4) when you pick out a HDD, I would suggest getting the fastest rpm and largest cache you can afford. With game and program sizes, I recommend getting 1TB nowadays. I have a 15k rpm 300gb hdd and I was kinda shocked how fast I filled it! That said you can always add a 2nd hard drive later if you want to go cheap for now.
5) The r7 260x is pretty dang solid card for the money. It's floating around the 200$ mark right now. The "cheap" card I would suggest now is the 7790, as its floating around 130$, and is far superior to anything below it in price, worthwhile gains at any case.

pretty much the same as the lists I gave you mate. I'd say go with the 650w, just to have the headroom for a couple extra bucks (literally like 5$ more)
