fx6300 in asus m5a97 problem

i have a asus m5a97 updated to the latest BIOS currently running a dual core no problem. I bought an amd fx6300 six core installed it and now windows 7 wont load it just hangs on the windows loading screen. Any suggestions?

Check if the CPU heat sink is fixed properly if the system is shutting down abruptly after showing the loading screen.

There should not be any problem like this in Windows 7.

But just in case it does happen, try booting into safe mode and see if it is working.

Otherwise, I would suggest to install the Windows OS on a separate drive just to see if it works them.
