I am on a budget and I'm confused about choosing fx6300, fx8350 or i54430! I was planning to get an msi gtx 660 oc gaming! So, what do you think it's the best? I want the pc to last for 2-3 years! And what do you think of the gpu?
What motherboard should i get?
I'm from Portugal, so no links from neweggs!
I will be gratefull if you answer :)

Solution
On a budget i would go for a 6300, if you want it to last more the 8350, the i5 Haswell aren't for budget PCs, as for the GPU i would get an R9 280, it is newer and has comparable performance, sorry i can't recommend you any motherboards, make sure it has AM3+ socket and at least PCIe 2.0, also choose the PSU wisely

Cheers and good luck 😀

An i5 is an excellent budget option (motherboards are cheaper than FX motherboards) and it will outperform or perform on par with an FX-8350 in all gaming.

First, thanks for helping me 😀
Well, I went to a portuguese site and i found this GPU "Sapphire Radeon R9 280 OC Dual-X Boost 3GB GDDR5"
Is the Sapphire good enough?

I'm using these links but they are in portuguese: www.kuantokusta.pt ; www.globaldata.pt

Here in Portugal the i5 4430 is more expensive than the fx6300 ($83) and the fx8350 ($23). I just want a CPU than wont crash my GPU!

Zircoben, in the States an i5 4670 costs double than a 6300, on other countries the difference is even more abysmal, the OP also said NO newegg links, i've been on many threads, the i5 is a bad choice if you're not going over 1000 USD of budget, and that's in the states, AMD has always been the best budget option, the price/performance of the 6300 is amazing, and it doesn't need an wesome mobo to function correctly, on the image you uploaded the difference between a 4670K (220-240 dollars) to the 6350 (140 dollars) (which is a slightly overclocked 6300) is 6 fps....and both are way past the 60, on a budget, is best to get an AMD CPU and focus on the GPU

Okay, what is the budget? I chose the i5-4430 because it is a better CPU than the FX CPUs, hands down.

But if your budget can't fit it, then yes, get an FX-6300.

My point in the graph was to illustrate that the i5 didn't bottleneck the 290X that was placed in, while the AMD CPUs did. It is definitely a more powerful CPU, especially in single-threaded tasks. You can also find cheaper motherboards and not have to spend extra money on overclocking equipment if you buy an i5-4430.

My budget is between $650 and $750. I already have the monitor, a mouse, and the keyboard, so I only need the components!

At that budget, an i5 is a much better buy. The motherboards are also cheaper and you will have an upgrade path for the future.

The i5-4430 would do great with the GTX 660, and with the budget you have, there is no reason to shortchange yourself on a 5-years out of date FX CPU. It is a good option for people at under $500 builds, but after that, Intel blows away AMD.

Language doesn't stop me much :)

If you could say if you want to overclock then this discussion on Intel vs AMD could be settled 😛

And your budget is 750 euro? The prices will be very different compared to american $.

I'll only overclock if the perfomance is bad. My budget is around 500 euros, so 500 euros=$700

Ok, then I think then the 6300 is your best bet. I have added up everything on the i5 build except the case and it's already close to 570 euro 😛
(portuguese look easy btw! I might try to learn more 😀)

If you wanted this to be lower 35E lower, then only get 4gb of ram for now and when you can get 4gb more of the same model like this. Total for 6300 build with only 4gb of ram, 522E

Now, I wouldn't overclock until you have a good CPU cooler, but you won't have to overclock right now anyways. The hyper 212 evo is 29E which seems really high :/ But if you want to do a good overclock, I'd recommend that one or do some research 😛

Solution
For the sake of arguing, if you got the i5 (166E) and an old chipset motherboard (56E) and the XFX 450w PSU (45E) and only 4gb of ram the intel build would be about 550E total.

I personally like the ability to overclock in a budget PC so that's why I'd go with AMD. The AMD build would be more an enthusiast build because you can overclock and have the option to crossfire later. The intel build would keep things simpler but you wouldn't have any overclock/crossfire options. (or maybe even upgrade to Haswell Refresh CPUs, though not sure about that yet)

I like that. Buy an i5, and pair it with a H81 or B85 motherboard for cheap, and stick with one stick of RAM until you can buy another later. The i5 is a much better CPU.

Thank you so much! I could not do better! I'm really thinking on choosing that components 😀
If you have any doubt while learning portuguese just send a PM and I will be happy to help :)

hehe good to know 😉 but I am bad for being lazy/distracted :X I started to learn french 5 years ago...but stopped after 2 month

About your computer though, the r9 270 can play many new games at 40+ fps on ultra. If you want it to last 2-5 years playing NEW games, then you might have to go down to medium/high settings. If you wanted to get a better GPU in this system, you MIGHT be able to overclock to, but it would be risky. You could get something like an r9 280 later and not overclock and this system would be 100% fine with that PSU :)

You don't have to overclock right now since it has good power, but if you want to you can. Here is a guide/info
http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/5103-a-guide-to-overclocking-the-amd-fx-series-and-some-info-on-ocing-in-generall/
Remember to get a good CPU cooler first

If you wanted to get a better ATX case, you could look into it; might be 10-15E more. I wasn't sure how good this one was but knew it could fit everything 😛

Aside from this, you will have a very good time on this machine. Even though it's not a 8320/i5, because of it's price and overclocks, it's still really great for budget builds.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask :)

I really do not care if i have to play on high or medium to have better perfomance 😀 First I'll go to a locar hardware shop and show them the online prices and ask them if they can give me better prices. If they can with the difference I'll buy a better case or a CPU cooler :)
Thank you again, you helped me a lot 😀
