is this a good setup for gaming? wanna run battlefield on at least mid, high settings. not gonna go for ultra, thats too expensive. what motherboard, power supply should i get? should i invest in a good sound card as well? please advice on amd only thanks.

Solution

That's a decent setup, it should do what you want...

However, having said that. Which HD 7850 are you looking at? If you're looking at a HD 7850 in the $160-180 range (a high end model), then you might consider something like a HD 7870 GHz or HD 7870XT if you can find one. The R9-270X will be comparable to those and come in about $199. Though, if you can afford $199, I would also look pretty hard at the HD 7950s, as there were several that crept under $200 a few weeks ago...

those three, i considered before but they're too expensive. if i do spend more and get them, will those last a good 3-5 years of gaming experience? those will allow me to run battlefield on ultra high settings?

+1

The FX 8320 is just clocked lower at stock and can overclock to (almost, very close to) 8350 speeds for less money.

Get something like a 7870, a better GPU will yield better results than a better CPU would.

Cyber Monday deals might have a situation where you can get a good HD 7950 for $180.

As for other components...a few good MBs:

Asus M5A97 R2.0 (not LE version)
Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0
Gigabyte 970A-UD3 (revision 4.0)
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
Asrock 970 Extreme4
Asrock 990FX Extreme4

Good PSUs:
Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 620W
Corsair CX500M or CX600M
Seasonic 550W
PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 500W/600W
OCZ Fatal1ty 550W

Good RAM:
G.Skill DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1866 (Ares, Sniper, Ripjaws)
Corsair DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1866 (Vengeance, Dominator)
Kingston DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1866 (HyperX is good)
Patriot DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1866 (Viper3 preferably)

Good GPU makers:
Sapphire
Asus
HIS
MSI
XFX
PowerColor
Gigabyte

(For a GPU I would recommend each manufacturer in that order listed)

Solution

so can FX8320 + HD 7870 play battlefield in med/high settings?

The FX-8350 is good for gaming and you don't really need to worry too much about it. You should get the 7850 and OC it to 1GHz and you can play it on ultra just around 60 FPS.

You have missed the best GPU manufacturer
EVGA is the best
