FX8350 w/ Asus Sabertooth R2.0 990FX - Best BIOS Setup

Hi , I just got my new motherboard and I wanted to configurate it to the max performance without overclock. There are some options that might be changed to 'Off' and I wanted to know what can I do. I just saaw that when i turn of my PC my mouse leds stays ON all the night long. How can i get it of when pc is off?
Should I update my bios? (Actual: "American Megatrends Inc. 2501, 08/04/2014")

Your best BIOS setup is different to many people, it's how 'you' want it which makes it best suit you. Motherboards tend to still deliver power through USB's even when your system is off, there tends to be settings in BIOS to change this or you can simply turn off the switch at the back of your power supply.

Your BIOS is the more current, up-to-date BIOS for that motherboard.

As what unknownofprob said, pretty much the other way to cut power to your peripherals, is to turn off your PSU.

I know, about cuting the power, but I want to change it on BIOS. I dont want to go back of the pc every time I turn on/off my pc. :S

Looking around that motherboard doesn't have a BIOS option to disable power after shutdown, your going to have to deal with it the way you have it.

Look under power management for ErP/EuP mode, believe that's the control feature for the USB ports on your mobo. As far as best performance without OCing anything, you prob already have it with the defaults.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread but I have the same cpu/MOBO setup and wanted to let you know that the normal bios setting on the sabertooth will increase your cpu voltage to 1.425. Turbo will underclock your ram and set cpu voltage to 1.315. EZ mode sucks like that. You really should manually change pretty much everything even when not overclocking. If you need help with this please feel free to contact me. Also, not all of the usb ports will stay on when turned off. I will have to look specifically, but I believe just the 3.0's and the row of 2.0's above that. The others have no power on my board when turned off.

Hey, can you give me a hand to re-config everything? My GPU is also pretty high, 82ºC. Every time I play something like BF4, Dayz, Farcry 4 and more, it just jumps to 82ºC and stay there the rest of my life. I got the overclock edition.

Hey there, Valter. Yes I would be more than happy to give you a hand setting up your config. Are you wanting to keep the stock settings, or are you interested in overclocking? Either way, I can help you out. Let's start with your GPU temps. . Are you running SLI? If so, you're card on top will be getting some heat off the one below. Either way it would be good to bring this down into at least the 70's. What type of case and fans are you running? A couple things to check without me knowing to start are; 1. Is your power supply fan right side up, or upside down. Having it upsidedown if your case has vents for it on the bottom can help lower your temps a few degrees. 2. Having the most up to date drivers for your GPU. 3. Making sure your fans on the bottom and side of your case are bringing air in and the ones on the top and back are pulling air out. 4. Some games that use Mantle seem to cause more problems than they solve on entry level GCN GPU's like 270's, 270x's, and should never be used with Nvidia cards so turn it off with your Nvidia. Games with PhysX should turn that option off when used with ATI/AMD cards. 5. Origin sucks. try closing it if possible before game boot or through task manager afterwards. Uplay sucks. Try doing the same. Sometimes these programs are required to run in order to save or get your achievements, or play multiplayer. There are workarounds. Generally, though these programs are giving your cpu more of a drag than your gpu. 6. Make sure your GPU is up to the task if you are running multiple monitors in these games. These are all things to try, but it may also be that you GPU is just from a bad batch.

Also, if you do not want USB's at all on when system is turned off you need to go to advanced options in your bios, and turn ON ErP energy saver function. PM me for the rest of the details for setting up your bios for optimal performance with or without overclocking. Goodluck!
