FX9590 randomly will go up to 70c + freezing while gaming

I know, I know, the fx9590 is a stupid really hot CPU and I really want to replace it but I just don't have the money right now.

My specs are:
FX9590
MSI 990FXA
16GB ram
ASUS 1050ti
corsair H115i

Problem 1: When gaming my computer will completely freeze with no sound or anything and I have to reboot.

Problem 2: Sometimes my cpu reaches as high as 70C and then will stay running hot with general use (about 50-60c) until it gets to the point where it will run 70c at boot and freeze shortly after. The only solution I have found to this is to replace the thermal paste and then it will go all the way down to 30c but after a month or so the problem will arise again.

Hmm, makes me wonder if something is off with the AIO, perhaps at times its not properly circulating fluid. And when you move it around to replace the paste it fixes it temporarily.

You also need a fan blowing down on the components surrounding the CPU Socket. A case with a place for fans on the side works.

Your choice of case and the fans you have in it also make a difference.

the problem is not the thermal paste that I am using or the circulation in my case as both are good

I have a 115i with a 9590 and the only answer is to slow down the cpu speed ... mine is stable at 4200 ... over that it gradually heats up more and more ... pushes the thermal grease out the sides as I have it clamped down hard.

In the bios. If you are unfamiliar with bios settings, then look for overclocking guides on your motherboard, and work "backwards" instead to lower your cpu settings.

yeah... the problem with the MSI 990FXA is that it won't overclock or underclock the cpu because it's over 200W

You absolutely can underclock it. Lower your multiplier and voltage settings.

no i can't. It doesn't allow me to change any voltage or multiplier settings.
