FXA - UD3 vs Fatal1ty 990FX Killer

I'm looking to really push my 8350 to its limits, I have an h100i, so I need a board under 200, really 150 with stable VRMs and a Black on Black or a Red on Black color scheme

Under $200 look at the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 or the Rock's 990FX Extreme9 , if at $150 or less the GB you linked to

The ASROCK board does have more space between the cpu socket and ram slots. Could help a little with some heatsinks. That's a feather in its cap.

Personally I'd go with the ASRock 990FX Killer because it has all the features you need, great quality, one of the best sound chips you can get, and it's the first M.2 capable motherboard which allows for 10GB/s SSDs. AMD's 990FX, due to it's PCIe lane count supremacy, is the perfect candidate for M.2 . The Killer Atheros LAN is awesome and it has it's own dedicated processor which gives priority to your streaming media over background processes. This alleviates your CPU from handling those functions. Purity Sound is really great as well. As a sub-$150 option I'd go with the "Killer" all day long due to it's BIOS, features, and quality. It's a no brainer over the UD3. The 990FX Sabertooth is a good board also, I own one, but I'd still go for the ASRock.

I agree about the Sabertooth. I've never used the Extreme9, although it looked pretty feature rich with some pretty high overclocking abilities.

I do have the Extreme9 LGA 2011 though, and that IS a beast! The chipset fan is pretty loud however.

It should be noted that the Killer only has 8+2 powerphase and so it's not a top shelf OC board either. Again though, it's $135 at Newegg so it's a really good board for the money. I would absolutely never pass it up for a UD3.
