Hi guys. Quick question. I have used my current G.Skill ram for a year or so, and now i have purchased a new set, same model, but the speed and timing is different. And when i boot my pc up, it starts, the display does not come up. It runs for awhile(while the screen is black), and then restarts. Then it worked fine. But in Windows it shows 8GB. But in CPU-Z it showed 16GB of ram, but with different speed and timing.

PC spec:
CPU: Intel i7-4770k 3.5GHz
Mobo: Asrock Extreme 3 Z87
RAM: G.Skill TridentX 2400 2x4GB
PSU: Corsair RM650

And also, the new RAM card i bought is different in serial number. Thanks guys!

Even though they are of the same model number? They are both F3-2400C10D-8GTX, but when i install them in, my PC wont start, it just reboots. I did it once, and after that i couldnt do it anymore. And when i checked CPU-Z, it said 16GB of ram, but the speed is different. And the timing. Or is it latency. It says on the sticker here PC3-19200, but on CPU-Z it says PC3-10600. Is there anything I am missing here?

Which means I cannot use all 4sticks together?

Yes, same model number only means they are the same spec, doesn't mean they can work together at that spec. Each kit is pre-matched, tested, and guaranteed from factory to run at the rated specs. If it were easy, we wouldn't need to do all that, we could just sell single sticks and people can purchase as many as they want.

"Max Bandwidth" in CPUz shows you the boot up value with AUTO default settings. To see what everything is actually running at, look in the Memory tab.

Nah you can not use that all 4 sticks you have, you can only use it if you buy Kit with 4 Ram DIMMS.

@gkillsuppport So that means I cant do anything then? I have to sell these 4 sticks and buy a 8GB×2 instead? If the latency is the same, will it work? I have resetted my current one, i have not resetted the new(used) one i have purchased. After resetting the latency is 11 11 12 31 if im not mistaken. It becomes default. Before resetting it was 9 9 9 24. What do you think?

Lol. What I did was reset my CMOS battery, plugged in my current G.SKill RAM, and then hit the reset button. Booted fine. Then I inserted my new(used) G.Skill RAM cards. And if worked fine. I think the main problem was my current ones are tweaked. So when I reset it it became default again. And now while I'm typing this, I am running 16GBs of RAM. :p HEHEHEE. Thanks for the help guys. haha.

Cheers! :)

And the catch is the speed is reduced to 1333Mhz. Haha.. Oh well.. May tweak it in the future. xD

Ohh, I am now on XMP Profile 1, the default, and I OC-ed it to DDR3-1600 10-10-12-31 if I am not mistaken. Based on the XMP profile, I didnt touch the latency settings. @.@ DO I have to?

Ah. So now I just manually set the latency to 8-8-8-24? Lol. First time messing with RAMs. :p hehe. Dont date to OC further than 1600 lol. Haha.

Oh. The max voltage is 1.65, which is already set at that. lol. I wont meddle with the voltage and Frequency. haha. I will when i have time, after work im too lazy to meddle, just wanna watch some movies/series and play games. haha will update here when i have done it. ;)
