It is. 1.45V is stupid high for DDR5. Even with DDR4 the default was 1.2V and most memory didn't exceed 1.35V in XMP.

JEDEC specifications (where the 1.1v comes from) are irrelevant for XMP/EXPO and voltages for those are generally only limited by platform.

Most DDR5 with low latency/high speed are 1.45v and those that aren't are mostly 1.4v. This is part of why DDR5 really needs cooling for maximum stability at high speeds/low latency.

Samsung DDR4 B-Die kits ran 1.5V XMP at anything around 4000/cl15. Can run even higher. Not a crazy/unmanageable voltage.

1.6v 4600mhz even without active cooling. Assuming you can keep them below 65C. But only possible on cometlake.

If I remember correctly, with DDR4 you don't want to exceed 1.35Vmem without bumping the Vsoc because it lead to instability and sudden memory controller death.

I haven't heard anything like that for DDR5.
