G.Skill Trident Royal 3600Mhz. One set is 18-22-22-42 and one set is 19-20-20-40. Wot? Which one is better? $10 price difference.

First number is most important. Lower the better and better quality ram.

If you can help it, go for CL 16.

I appreciate the response. I was just so confused since one had lower CL but higher subtimings, and the other had higher CL but lower subtimings. This is for my girlfriend's build, and she's absolutely set on 32GB of the G.Skill Royal. The 18-22-22-42 is $180, the 19-20-20-40 is $190, and the CL16 version is $212.

Awesome start. I would really consider CL16 ram to go with. Ryzen relies on low timings and frequency for performance. To do with the Infinity Fabric inside the processor.

I would suggest CL14 too but these are a LOT more expensive. CL16 is the sweet spot between cost and performance.

The 32GB DDR4 3200 CL16 set is $185. I just can't justify paying $212 for RAM hehe, this specific RGB model is just so dang expensive. And she's set on 32GB. 16GB of DDR4 3600 CL16 I think is running $152 for this model.
