? 1st is £700sih and 2nd although faster is only £300 ... only difference I see is the 400mhz, although the timings could be different? they are both CL15 I cant see the timings on the 2nd but the first are 15-15-15-35 I assume the 2nd are the same.. so why the huge price difference?

Solution
If prices are correct I'd look at demand, the 2800 are definely better and stronger sticks - both sets are CL 15, I'd go the 2800 even if I had a CPU that couldn't run 2800 - should be able to run these at 2400 with a tighter CL of 12/13 rather than the 15 on the 2400 set
Assuming there is not an error in quoted pricing.

The price is dependent on market demand, and/or brand of memory chips used, and/or model of memory chips used, and/or cost of memory chips used, availability of memory chips used, and/or due to promotion/special arrangement with vendors.

The 2800 MHz memory may be cheaper because of favorable factors as mentioned above, ie may not be much in demand so priced cheaper to attract buyers, memory chips used may be cheap.

The 2400 MHz memory may be more expensive due to high demand, low availability of memory chips, or brand/model of memory chips may be more expensive.
