Hi. Looking to build a new PC for Christmas. In my opinion G.Skill is the way to go for gaming memory but I'm unsure whether to go for the Ripjaws V or the TridentZ. Looking to obtain the best performance. Which one would you guys got for (Not taking into account price). Thanks!

Both Ripjaws V and Trident Z are great on Z170, I grabbed a 2x8GB set of the RJ V (3000) while waiting for the release of the Tri Z and then got a 32GB set of 3200 of them. The Ripjaws 4 are slightly more tuned to quad channel in the advanced timings

Looked much as the Sniper series?(what I currently have) I don't know the motherboard they are going it so if not DDR3 compatible i'd go with the cheaper of the two or whichever one has the best deals tagged onto it of the before mentioned. Really hard to go wrong with G.Skill as long as it's compatible with the motherboard.

I've previously used Mushkin before in a small server setup and might be worth a browse unless you're heart is set on G.Skill.

GSkill doesn't have any Snipers in DDR4, They have the Ripjaws 4 (targeted to X99), the Ripjaws V (targeted Z170), the Trident Z (upper line) and the NT series of Value DRAM in DDR4

... I know that's why I said if not DDR3 compatible. errr maybe should have thrown "with the motherboard" somewhere in that statement. Only ram is being talked about not any other component. Assuming that just because the listed items are DDR4 means that the intended ram is going into an X or 100 series is unknown at this point.

Speaking of which, do you have a list of components pick out itzRAMTIN? We might be better able to give more detailed answers.
