Is G.SKILL Trident X 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C10D-16GTX compatible with Gigabyte Z87HD3?

Solution
The IMC supports Dual channel with the DIMS either occupying only two slots or must be all four of the same DDR3 modules if you plan on running at 16gb either fill 2 or all 4 slots with 2x8gb or 4x4gb. It most likely is required you setup in motherboard bios too once you finish installing...... prior to boot select XMP profile under bios settings and it should report at the correct cas timing and frequency. lookup in windows that it's at 2400mhz with CPU-Z or AIDA64 before messing with bios.

Okay. Well, was worried because Gigabyte GA Z87 HD3 [Z87 Chipset] isn't listed in the G-Skill Trident X DDR3 compatibility list.

Exact same 16gb set in my x58 rig at least with a less capable IMC that supports a max 2100MHz o.c with tighter cas timing with reduced latency. the Trident x was first released as the best performer and overclocker compared to the other branded memory you could buy before ddr3000+ was released. The GA Z87 HD3 only supports an Overclock profile passed 1600Mhz memory. U will need to pull up the XMP profile in bios then
