How do I up clock my ram so that it can run at the rated 2133mhz? It's running low and i'd like to raise it up... I'm not familiar with upclocking ram.

The model is F3-2133C9D-16GTX

I just want to run at stock 2133

Computer specs if it helps, I have a FX-8350 running at 4.8ghz, crosshair v formula z mobo, gtc 770 sc acx 4gb.

I know this thread is old, but I am about to buy them modules. You don't have any problems with them on your board do you? I want something great for my system, and Asus tech isn't really helping me at all. They're swamped right now.

I bought a 8gb set of 2400mhz tridents.
They are 1.65v on cl 10 (or 11 i dont remember)
I undervolted them to 1.5v and run on 2133 cl 10.
But i must admit, Didnt notice even a SLIGHT difference compared to my old 1600 cl11 set.
I believe u must do some really hardcore stuff to really notice the difference

Throughout this build and troubleshooting, I've changed Motherboards, Ram, and PSU. I'm so fed up of seeing people with a similar setup state that they're getting smooth game play. The PSU change did show increase in performance I do have to say, but the ram during games not really. I have tried just about EVERYTHING. I think I'm just going to wait and save up for the new i7s that just got announced. I don't know what else to do. My benchmarks seem to be right on par, and even pretty high for that matter on various benchmarking softwares, but in game I just get stutter, and it's driving me crazy.

Shaun311,

How do you have the RAM configured in BIOS?

Yingda Wang,

You are correct, high speed RAM is only good for high performance purposes. It's like driving a sports car in city traffic, your car may have top speed of 160mph, but for city use you can not tell. It will be just like any other economy car. but take the sports car to the racing track where it's meant to go fast then you will notice a huge difference.

Thank you

I don't believe I am having a RAM issue. I've come to the conclusion that the FX chips just SUCK for gaming which is sad. I have been troubleshooting my computer for months now and I'm just done with it. I underclock the ram to 1866 when I am at stock clocks. I only run them at rated speed of 2133 when I OC my system, which really does nothing for my games. Even at 40 FPS on Borderlands 2 you can see the jitter, and on Slender I get the same thing. I just can't believe that I am not SOLID at 60FPS with a 780ti running 1080. Trust me, I have tried more things than you can imagine to troubleshoot this issue.

Also, I just noticed that I posted my rant on the wrong thread! HAHA! Oh well. Sorry about that man.
