I’m interested in getting G.Skill Trident Z Neo sticks. I want good ram modules for an AMD CPU with as low timings as possible at 3200-3600MHz.

G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600MHz 4x32GB (F4-3600C18Q-128GTZN) - Costs around $1000
G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600MHz 4x32GB (F4-3600C16Q-128GTZN) - Costs around $800

As you can see, the one with CL18 costs $200 more than the CL16 version. Can anyone tell me if there’s a big difference between these two? Is it worth buying the one with CL16? If I bought the RAM modules with CL18 should I be able to get these at the exact same timings as the CL16 modules?

Solution
Why in the world would you want 128gb?
Unless you are building a pc for heavy heavy workstation use with a threadripper and sli cards, there is literally no point in getting 128gb's.

Master Yoda, I wish to be able to do 4K rendering in After Effects, Music Production in FL Studio, Photo editing in Photoshop / Lightroom and much more at the same time. Of course, I want to deliver work as quick as possible to clients and therefore the faster the rendering time.. the better.
May the force be with you.

The difference between the two, will primarly be noticable in gaming : )
CL18 would be my pick, unless you dont care about the price.
What is the rest of your system like?

Do you have your prices backwards?
If you want the best of the best go with the cl16.
