I’m planning to build a new system with the ASUS TUF Z890 Pro motherboard and I’m considering using the G.SKILL Trident Z5 CK DDR5-9000 (CL42-56-56-144, 48GB - 2x24GB, 1.45V) memory kit.

Before proceeding, I wanted to ask the community if anyone has tested this specific RAM model with this motherboard. Is it fully compatible at its rated speed of 9000 MHz, or would I need to make specific adjustments in BIOS, such as enabling XMP?

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated to ensure stable and optimal performance.

Why do you need such high frequencied ram? The sweet spot for Intel's platforms are DDR5-6000MHz or slightly higher.

Is it fully compatible at its rated speed of 9000 MHz, or would I need to make specific adjustments in BIOS, such as enabling XMP?
Yes, you need to enable X.M.P in BIOS but you'd need to make sure you're on the latest BIOS version before enabling X.M.P.

One of my colleagues has already purchased and assembled a system using the G.SKILL Trident Z5 CK DDR5-9000 (CL42-56-56-144, 48GB - 2x24GB, 1.45V) memory kit, but I was not involved in the purchasing process. We are using this system for processing tasks.
I have three questions.
Without enabling XMP, is this RAM fully compatible with the ASUS TUF Z890 Plus motherboard and Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor?
If it is compatible, can XMP be enabled with the current setup? We have two kits, totaling 96GB of RAM. If so, what frequency should I set it to after enabling XMP?
Is there an optimal automatic setting in the BIOS for this memory, as I am not very familiar with manual settings?

Another question is whether the processor itself supports this RAM with this motherboard. Unfortunately, I don't have as much hardware knowledge as you. 🙂😬
Or did we end up spending extra on this?
If we set the RAM to the processor's base frequency that it supports, will the speed still be good?
Because I've read about latency (CL) and I'm not sure if this setting will improve it as well or not!
