So i purchased both parts from newegg, it arrived and i put it together. The motherboard would not post, and let a yellow/amber light on. I checked manual and it said it was ram/memory light. So i switched out the sticks tried them one by one in each slot, nothing working. I then switch to another pair of memory sticks i had, and it worked perfectly. I've see others with the same memory and motherboard, yet mine will not work ?

Also to mention, the rgb lighting turns on when i connect the sticks, just won't post .

Solution

I have basically this exact same setup and when I updated my BIOS to 8.0.2 now my Ram no longer does any RGB at all.... I would downgrade the BIOS If possible since it seems to have incompatibilities with the G.SKILL RGB Ram.

i have an i7-7700k , and i updated the BIOS to 8.02 ( i forgot it was the latest on the support page for my motherboard )

the second set of memory i used is also G.skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZKW ( worked like a charm) , many people are telling me that it was maybe bad sticks. The RGB on the ram works , but with that memory the motherboard will not post.
