I'm building a new system, main specs below, and I am trying to decide on a monitor.

Not sure if I should go with 27" 1080P w/ G-Sync or 27" 1440P 144Hz (no G-Sync). Either are in my price range. 1440P *with* G-Sync is not, from what I've seen.

The rig should be able to handle a good number of games at 1440P, but I'm aware that 1080P is more the sweet spot for this build. Just not sure if opting for G-Sync would be a better experience overall than going with a display that supports 1440P w/ a high refresh rate but no G-Sync.

Main reason I lean toward 1440 resolution-capable display is I'd like it to be a bit future proof, in case I decide to upgrade the GPU down the line...

Main Specs:
Intel i7 6700K 4.0GHz
16gb DDR4/3000
EVGA GTX1060 Superclocked 6gb
Intel m.2 600P 512GB SSD
2TB mechanical drive
MSI Z170 mobo

with a 1060 you should stay at 1080p.
I wouldn't recommend 27" for that resolution though.

I had a 27" 1080p and I kept missing my old 24" due to the PPI. I went and got myself a 1440p 27" to fix that.
I would only get a 1060 with 1440p if I had a Gsync monitor, but they are expensive and you would be better off with a 1070.
