Question G sync on a free sync monitor

Hello guys, i need help im about to buy AOC C24G1 with GTX1070 and it has compatibility for g- sync, so i want to know if i get Displayport 1.2 can i enable g- sync even if the port on GTX 1070 says Displayport 1.4? Thanks in advance.
