G-sync or not

I have an alienware 17 r4 with g-sync, I will be hooking monitor to it, do I need a monitor with g-sync also, for the best gaming. I would like to save the money on purchase of great gaming monitor, was looking at the lg 34uc79gb.

I'd say yes to gsync at 100htz +

Consider the 75htz model instead, you won't have to worry about gsync then at all.

I have two AOC monitors, both 24 inch at 1080p @ 144 herts. One with Freesync and one with Gsync. I bought for around $300 each...

They are great monitors under 2ms.

Both Freesync and Gsync are good but it all depends on the game you play.

For example. When I play CS:GO my FPS is over 144fps and GSync doesn't work well when processing over what your monitor can handle herts wise. I was getting random skips in my game. When I go into CS console and manually set display fps to 144. Issue went away. However, turning GSync on or off (or even vsync for that matter) did not fix the issue.

But for the most part Gsync works great. I just keep that in the back of my mind that if my FPS is over the herts my monitor can handle. You may need to set a limiter such as forcing an FPS max limit.

I haven't ran into any issues expect for in CS so far. It's not really a big problem to worry about.
