hello everyone

this message
"g-sync test mode"
"uncertified g-sync display detected"

shows up on my laptop sceen with red letters if i turn on gsync
acer predator helios 16

gsync works but the red letters are constantly there and thats very anoying

does anyone know a way to get rid of this error?

and how is it different if i turn off gsync

and in nvidia control panel under 3d application settings i change vsync settings from 3d application controlled to adaptive because that seems to work but i dont know the difference between that and gsync

thank you

Software issue, according to Acer. Acer is also aware that other Helios 16 laptops are affected with this issue.
Might want to wait until Acer releases the hotfix (they have been working with it for the last 3 months).

Found this topic that tells what the issue is,
link: https://community.acer.com/en/discu...y-2023-helios-16-anyone-having-the-same-issue
Thank you

hope you are right

to me it seems like a gpu/monitor bios issue and not sure acer can just change that with an update :/

as i saw other (not acer) laptops with rtx 4000 have the same issue might be an nvidia problem

Update

I sent the laptop back to acer so they could check whats the issue

They said they cant fix it and they wont even try coz this is an issue with "sample pieces" so no solution 🙁

coz this is an issue with "sample pieces" so no solution
If your laptop is sample piece, then it would explain a lot. Sample laptops are made prior to the full release, to show the press what the upcoming lineup is supposed to look/perform like. There is 0 guarantee that sample piece has to work like full release.

If you got yours for free (usually sample pieces are for free), great, continue using it with the flaws it has. If you don't want the flaws, buy the full release version.
