Hello.

My current situation is that I am thinking about to buy a 4K TV LG OLED55C9. This TV supports G-Sync via HDMI (since NVIDIA Driver update and LG TV Firmware update). It works with GTX 16 Series and RTX 20 series GPUs. Important thing is that the TV has only HDMI ports and my

Ok, but I have also Avermedia Live Gamer Ultra External Capture Card. This capture card supports HDMI 2.0, 4K 60FPS pass through or 1440p 144FPS pass through. But I am not sure if I will connect my GPU via the Capture Card and not directly to TV if I will still be able to use G-Sync on the TV...So I would like to find some alternative solutions, how to use G-Sync and Capture Card at the same time.

-Important thing is that the TV has only HDMI ports and no DisplayPort.
-Second important thing is that my GPU has only 1 HDMI output and 2 DisplayPort outputs.

I was thinking about some HDMI splitter, that I would split the HDMI signal into TV and Capture Card.

The second alternative is that I would use DisplayPort -> HDMI cable (this output into Avermedia, classic HDMI output to TV) and I would extend my desktop to 2 monitors.

So my questions are:

  • Firstly do you think that I will be able to use G-Sync wih the Avermedia Passthrough?
  • Has the HDMI splitter any picture quality decrease?
  • Do you have any other solution?

Thank you so much :)

Solution
As far as I know, G-Sync won't work with any kind of capture card, adaptor or y-splitter between the GPU and the display - it has to be a direct uninterrupted connection from the GPU to the TV (in this case).

Thanks, so the best possibility is to use dedicated HDMI GPU Port for connection to TV and then DisplayPort to HDMi adapter to connect the capture card?
