I bought new monitor that run with G-sync but my gtx 1070 only has HDMI connectors will the G-sync work with an Displayport to HDMI adapater?(active or passive if there a difference between them using one monitor)

Solution
Gsync only works on Display Port. I dont think an adapter will work.

You must have a single slot 1070 for it to not have a display port. I did not know they may 1070s without a display port.

Hard to believe any 1070 models are equipped with only HDMI given that Gsync and Displayport are one of the main features. A graphics card bought new will have their ports covered with covers similar to this picture. If 2nd hand, possibly only HDMI was used and the rest are still covered.

1. DisplayPort to HDMI adapters are for connecting DP computers to HDMI displays. They won't work the other way around.

2. G-Sync only works on DisplayPort, it won't work through an adapter of any kind, unless it's from DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort or vice versa.

3. I doubt your GTX 1070 has only HDMI and no DP. DP and HDMI look very similar. Check again.
