G14 RAM question

So, I just recently ordered myself a G14 for college, and I (thought I) knew pretty well what I was getting myself into with the RAM. My model has 8GB onboard, and I opted for the additional 32GB stick (I’ll post a link)

So from my understanding 8 + 8 will run in dual channel and the other 24 will run in single channel.

After reading more I’ve had mixed results, and now mixed feelings. Most tasks, especially gaming shouldn’t take up over 16GB of ram to start making it to the 24GB of single channel right?

I fear losing gaming performance and having any extra stress out in my system.

Some people say that it shouldn’t matter for the reason I described above, and others make it seem like it will just result into the CPU completely underperforming indefinitely.

If someone could make things a little more clear it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I also just heard about flex mode, and it seems like it’s not a big deal because of that?
