G230 vs g430?

Can anyone tell me for sure the difference between a Logitech G230 and G430.

I think that the difference is in the G430 USB dongle.

Are the actual headsets identical except for color?

G430 is surround sound headset. Or at least it pretends to be. I have not found any good surround headset up until this moment that are at a reasonable price. Tried the G430 and tried some Creative Crative3D but it was horrible. The bass was murky and muddy and the overall sound quality was rather bad.

Then I got a G230 - good old analog stuff. Using them for the past year - couldn't be happier. I vote for G230 - better than most of the headsets for the price.

I bought a G430 and returned it thinking that the problem was a weak sound card (dongle).

I then purchased a G230 and a Creative ZX. Thic also sounds very poor.

I am thinking of returning the ZX for an Asus DX and just didn't want the G230 to have been the weak point.

I am running the G230 on my Realtek ALC898 Audio Codec. The headset sounds superb after you do your audio settings properly. Any headset sounds bad if you are running a flat or improper equalizer.
