G231 prodigy headset mic not working

i just bought a G231 Prodigy Headset and the mic isn't working, the audio comes through fine but i the mic is still stuck on laptop mic, i have one headset input slot on my Acer Aspire | V LAPTOP, i have tried doing show disabled devices to no avail, someone please help 🙁

Have you tried this:
Right-click on the Volume icon in the right-hand corner of the taskbar
Select Recording Devices
Change which device is your default input

That's the simplest possible solution in Windows 10. If that doesn't work, then it gets complicated.
