Today my friend spilled water on my Logitech G402 mouse its been with me for a year now, So far I've become adapted to the mouse ergonomics and find it comfortable. He told me he is going to replace the mouse, but I don't want to put so much financial stress on him (were both students), I'm considering asking him to get me the G102 instead, which has RGB lights and a braided cable, a more modern sensor as well. But I'm no expert when it comes to sensor technology, I'm also afraid of switching to a different mouse shape, although, I used to use claw grip before the g402. What say you gurus?

The G102 and G203 are light weight and great for claw grips, very flickable and great for FPS. They also have a better "mercury" sensor, a bit newer tech than the AM010 in the G402 (not that it's bad by any means, just a bit old-school). I also find the G402 is also a bit too heavy for my taste, and I am not a palm grip guy so I am a bit jealous you can switch so easy! I tend to switch between claw and fingertip grips, just my style.

So yea, if you can claw it and deal with the smaller / lighter g102, and save a tenner to boot, yea that's a great deal. If not and you are used to the palm-grip G402, tell him to fess up and get a full replacement!!

EDIT - the G203 is $25, so if you are considering the g102 get the g203...
For a mere 10USD bump you're getting the exact same mouse:

I must ask you though, is 10USD a deal breaker? :/ What sort of games do you play often or always? You could migrate to a claw type mouse and relearn the way you would like to operate the mouse but IMH I think it's best not tinker with the mouse if you're a competitive gamer unless the mouse was out of stock globally 😉

I own both and still using both G102 for FPS games mostly. it really is more accurate and the smaller lighter size will generally give you faster reaction time. however, for general computing I find the clicks are "way too loud" and harder to press compared to the G402. I think G402 is a more relaxed mouse to use if it fits your hand shape. and still decently accurate
