Hey COLGeek, do you know why it says box and tray prices in the link you gave him? I know processors come in a box. So whats a tray?

A tray CPU is an OEM CPU, like those sold to Dell or other system builders.

Sometimes, you can buy an OEM CPU from a vendor like Newegg.

Tray CPUs typically carry a shorter warranty and don't come bundled with a heatsink liked the boxed versions do. They do tend to be less expensive as a result but are identical otherwise.
