GA-7N400L and Aiptek HyperPen 6000U Trouble

Hi,

until yesterday I used a GA-7ZXE and the graphics tablet HyperPen 6000U
(USB) with no major problems. It worked in Windows Xp Pro as well as in
the setup dialogues when installing Windows. Now i switched to a
GA-7N400L (F8 BIOS) and can't get the tablet to work. In setup dialogue
of XP it doesn't work at all. In WinXP with installed drivers is works
ok for some movements, then the cursor stutters, jumps and hangs. Looks
like any ressource problem, but it seems to be on BIOS level allready.
No conflicts are to be seen.

Any one got an idea?

I have a GA-7NNXP motherboard and the Aiptech Hyperpen 12000U (branded as an
Medion as sold by Aldi in the UK), and, wait for it I've seen the same as
you describe!

Fingers crossed this is going to help you, because the cure in my case was
relitively simple. Also plugged in to the same PC is forcefeedback joystick
that has some functions that appear in Windows XP as being HID (Human
Interface Devices). Well to cut a long story short, the joystick doesnt
like sharing the USB controller its plugged into with other HID devices.
Answer, try using the HyperPen on different USB connectors on your PC (the
motherboard has 2 USB controllers on the southbridge).

I hope that works, btw £30 for an A4 graphics tablet, what a bargain!

That was a good idea, but didn't help. I use a Logitech Rumble Pad USB,
appearing as HID-device, but even unplugging didn't change a thing. I
tried all 3 USB controllers meanwhile. I now decided to return to using
a trackball.
