Athlon xp3200
2*512 OCZ eb RAM
40gig IBM (c) pri ma
Pioneer slot DVD rom (d) pri sl
LG DVD writer 8* (e) sec ma
Samsung 160 GB (f) sec sl
I'm long overdue for a reformat of C (isn't XP much more forgiving?) and
have read a few threads here about how a sundcard is preferable as on-board
sound uses system resources whereas a soundcard has it's own. I've use the
onboard sound without issue for 2 yrs now but I want to squeeze every last
bit of performance from this setup before going to a 64bit system.
I have a perfectly good Turtle Beach soundcard in a cupboard, should I
install it and disable on-board sound for better overall performance?
Thanks.
