I wonder if the Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 (rev. 3.0) will operate the 1. generation FX-CPU's? This is a AM3-board, but has probarly the same arcitecture as the rev. 3.1 of the same board, except from the socket. (AM3+)

I think I have read someplace, that it will run, with some loss of function with the automatic fan control (?)

I will try to get an FX 6120 or some other FX 61xx/81xx CPU, to go with water cooling, (...or even an FX 6200?)

The two boards share the same newest BIOS

Sure it will, but even the FX-4/6/81XX CPU's I belive!!!!
...but didn't KNOW until today.

Anyway!

I got an FX-6120 in the mailbox yesterday, used, from US. It's now running smoothly, slightly overklocked to @4Ghz with water cooling, on the GA-870A-UD3 v.3.0 mobo (white-socket-board) :)

A game like Arma 3 is running significantly better than with the Phenom II 965 I replaced..

...and the gamer kid at home is veeeery pleased :)
