I have recently purchased components to build my system and I am having difficulty. I have Gigabyte GA-8IHXP board (Rev. 2.1), P4 2.4Ghz (100FSB), Radeon 9700 PRO, 2x128 Kingston PC1066 RDRAM, Raidmax 450W PSU, and 80Gb Seagate HD. After installing the components and all power cables I can't get the system to POST to BIOS. I get all the fans to run and hard drive will spin, but I get NO OUTPUT on the screen. I have checked the monitor to make sure it is working, checked the video card in another system, checked the CPU in another system, and all work properly. I can't figure out what to do and it is a frustrating problem since I get NOTHING to work with. I have reset the CMOS and that doesn't help. All I get is three short beeps, pause, then three short beeps...continuously. Seems like it may be a RAM issue... I've tried putting the RAM in RIMM 1&2 and 1&3 and I always use the CRIMMs. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

3 short: Base 64K memory failure: A memory failure has occurred in the first 64K of RAM.

You get three beeps when it's installed either way?

I have the same set up as you do, pretty much. I was wondering if you got your system to boot up? I havent gotten my radeon in the mail, but it is on the way. Could you post again soon and tell me how things went for you, problems, etc. thanks

Oh, BTW, did you connect the four pin power connector to the video card?

You mentioned in your post that you tried putting ram in 1 & 3. RDRAM modules allways must be populated in pairs and of same type. That is 1&2 with CRIMMS in 3&4 or 3&4 with CRIMMS in 1&2.
1) Check to make sure CPU is seated properly and no bent pins.
2) In my AMI beep codes table 3 short beeps indicates problem with RAM < 64K. What happens when you swap RIMM 1 with RIMM 2?
3)Once you get system to post do a google search for memtest-86 and verify your memory before attempting to load XP. Lots of bad 1066 RIMM out there.
