i have a GA-965P-S3 motherboard (yes i know its old) and when i try to update bios, it only allows me to update from floppy not usb. is there anyway i can change this? i want to update bios so i can overclock my core 2 duo e6600. whenever i try to overclock it, it just reverts back to normal clock speed. i am on bios f2 trying to get the latest bios.

Gigabyte has a windows based flash process.
Use it with extreme care since a failed bios update can truly brick pour motherboard.
My reading says F8 to support E6600, and F14 is current.

I might not spend too much time or money on that overclock endeavor.
If you want cpu performance buy a new gen cpu.
A E6600 has a passmark rating of 1562.
By comparison a $70 G3258 is 4000 at stock with 30% more available through overclocking.

How do u update bios in windows? I have an aftermarket cooler on my chip. I want to upgrade but I'm just a kid, I don't got much money nor Want to bother my parents to rack up hundreds.

Well that's the thing, when i try to use the Q-flash in the bios (clicking F8 in bios), it only lets me update from floppy disk. It doesn't show any other option.
