System fails to recognize master drive. I have switched the cable from the system board from the hard drove to the SATa DVD drive. The bios recognizes the SATA DVD drive in both cases but does not recognize the hard drive. I have used two different power connections with no change in results.

What can I add to the board so it will recognize the hard drive?

Understood. Your master reference threw me off. Are you using regular SATA power connectors, or MOLEX to SATA conversion connectors?

Also, are all of your SATA ports enabled and configured to operate in IDE Mode?

BTW, with SATA drives, there really is no master/slave relationship like with IDE.
