Hi everyone. noob to the forumz here :)

The following are my current specs:

AMD X2 3800+ AM2
MSI K9N Ultra
BBA X800XL
Mushkin 1gb 667 Ram
W.D 160gb Sata 8mb cache
Creative SB Live!

everything's on STOCK

now....the problem is that my pc switches itself off randomly....especially when i am dloading something off the net or accessing a file on the network (another pc's files). this motherboard that i am using, the MSI K9N Ultra, has been confirmed faulty for my batch (serial 7250) by MSI.

RMA'ing isnt an option cuz it takes too long and i have work to do. so i'm gonna try to trade it in at the store i got it from for the Gigabyte GA-M55S-S3 and add like usd10. another guy with the same board as myself tried and got the asus m2n-e, but i've been hearing horrible things about it.

the thing is, i cant seem to find a review for this gigabyte board anywhere. anyone here using it, or knows whether anyone has reviewed it? is it a recommened board? i do NOT intend to do any overclocking or tweaking. just want something stable that wont hang or turn itself off randomly. and must be compatible with my RAM too.

thanks in advance everyone. looking forward to hearing from u guys :)

I've been using this board for the past few months and it's absolutely rock solid stable. I have found exactly one issue with this board and it concerns the fact that the PCI bus frequency isn't locked to 33MHz. This, however, only affects those who want to overclock, so it won't be an issue for you.

So, I highly recommend this board. :)

I own another S series board: Ga-M59SLI-S5, which is the nforce590 chipset version, and it is awesome, very stable and runs cool. The board you want to get doesn't have silent pipe cooling though, i'd recomend that you get the same board as i have, but unfortunately they don't make em anymore, so get the one you want to get or better yet grab the one with 570 chipset.
