Hi,

I am facing following problem: my motherboard GA-M57SLI-S4 (http://www.gigabyte.cz/products/page/mb/ga-m57sli-s4_10/) does not boot with 4x4Gb Kingston memory modules (total 16Gb of RAM) at 800Mhz. (It should be supporting this memory configuration.)
The modules are certified as DDR2 800Mhz modules and all of them are same (= same manufacture date and same serial number according to diagnostic program "CPU-Z").
My computer is able to run stable with memory speed lowered to 667Mhz.
Could anybody tell me what is the reason of my issue ? Does exist any solution how to run these modules at full speed (800Mhz) ?

BTW: I was using 4x1Gb Kingston memory modules before above mentioned upgrade without no problems at full speed (800Mhz). I was able to overclock my FSB from 200Mhz to 222Mhz and my computer was still stable under full load.

I use the latest version of BIOS. Memory modules (4x4Gb) are also in perfect condition according to "memtest86" = no errors. Maybe some adjustment of memory timing or latency, etc. could help but I do not know which value I should adjust in my BIOS.My modules are running with automatic adjustment by BIOS now.

you mean perfect in windows version of memtest86? You should use bootable version, because windows version doesn't have access to some ram.

Memtest86+ has finished its job -> no errors. Does exist any program which would be able to find the fastest stable configuration of system RAM ? (I mean something like Powerstrip for graphics cards.)

Hi Liber, I have the same problem. Did you manage to solve it?
Mine PC is stable with 16GB with 533 Mhz.
My only thought is that mine memory has latency 6-6-6; there were also 5-5-5 & 4-4-4, maybe this is the issue?

Hi Karol_1,

Unfortunately, I have not found any solution yet. My computer was occasionally very unstable with 16Gb RAM at 667 Mhz or 533 Mhz. Now, my computer is running with only 8Gb RAM (2x4Gb) at full speed (800 Mhz) and it seems to me faster than in previous configuration (16Gb RAM at 667 Mhz).
I would appreciate any new ideas to this topic 🙂
