ga x99 sli boot failure with xmp profile enabled

I'm getting a boot fail message every time I try to enable the xmp profile on my ga x99 sli mobo. The Ram is gskill tridentz 3200mhz. The computer will boot but only at the stock setting of 2133mhz. When I try to manually set the memory I get the same boot fail.

Win10 itself should not affect the BIOS but may have problems with a BIOS as far as how the two interact, I'm still holding off on Win10 for across the board implementation, I've got it on 1 rig and can run it in others via a VM

Hmm that gives me some hope, and actually makes sense!
As far as the memory goes it is f4-3200c16d-16gtz (8192mb x4).
For over clocking the 5930k I was advised to wait a few days just using my comp normally to make sure all is working ok 1st before doing the over clock. I also want to get the ram figured out as I'm sure 1 thing will effect the other, but It's been a few days now so I'm going to be doing it soon.
Now the bios version I have is f1 and the date is 4-15-2015. From the gigabyte site I found a few more...there's an f20 update 1-12-2016, and then beta update f21a 1-13-2016. When I downloaded and tried to run the f21a it told me I was unable to run it on my version of windows? Which is win 10. Should I ignore this and copy/paste the update to a usb stick then run it from q flash? I have never flashed a bios before so I'm not exactly sure how to best do it. A video I watched did it with the usb stick so I'm thinking to do the same?

Ok so I updated the bios to the latest beta version and then tried to enable the xmp profile and the exact same boot failure happened again! I guess now I should do the cpu oc? Any suggestions on what I should shoot for(4.5 @ stock voltage)? Or the highest stable oc I can achieve @ any voltage? Again, just like the bios, I have never done a full oc on a cpu before...I mean were I played around with voltages. I feel pretty confident I can do whatever is needed, but I don't want to kill my chip either! What do you suggest?

I also have a Gigabyte x99 board and gskill memory but mine is 3000 rated. To get mine to run at that, I had to bump up SA voltage a bit after setting XMP. Once I set SA voltage to around .2 or .25, I had no more issues booting. Give it a try. And, btw, the latest two Gigabyte BIOS aren't for our CPU (they do a poor job communicating that). You want the F2f BIOS.

Thanks for the info man! Actually what I did was checked with the gigabyte site for all the xmp supported ram. The ram the guy sold me was not on that supported list for this mobo,(so much for guys working at computer stores having your best interest in mind). I was able to change the ram out for f4-3200c16q-16grkd and when I enabled the xmp profile it worked. But then on the next reboot I had a boot fail. But this ram shows more promise as I was able to get it working for a while(unlike the gskill tridentz).
Something I didn't realize until this xmp problem came up(and I'm sure most already know this, but I didn't) was that when you buy ram you have to make sure your cpu supports it too! i7 5930k and i7 5820k have a max of 2133mhz. Both chips can handle more but that is the optimal setting, the max they are supposed to be rated for. So unless you are going to over clock the hell out of it you really only need about 2400-2600mhz ram...if you 're gunna overclock, or 2133mhz if you are not!. I wish the guy at Canada Computers explained this to me when I was asking him about all of this, and before I bought 3200mhz ram!

As for the f2f bios I have scoured the internet for it and have found nothing? Are you sure it is for ga x99 "sli" ver.1 board? Can you show where to get the download?

Thanks kindly, but I have the latest bios(f21a) from that link! What toranox is saying is the latest bios from that site is not the most compatible for the ga x99 sli board we both share. He's saying that the f2f bios is the best choice for our cpu(i7 5930k), but I can't find that bios download anywhere.

I hate to say this but if you bothered to read the posts in this thread you'd already know this.

That link simply is the official support page for your mobo, and doesn't show an F2F that Toranox indicated. You can try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.05 and/or the VCCSA to about 1.2 or 1.25

Ya, I think toranox is talking about a different x99 board. I did find a newer gigabyte beta bios from the tweaktown forum the f21c, but it didn't help the situation at all.

I increased the DRAM +0.10(as that was the smallest increment possible)tried it, but got a boot fail. I then tried to increase the system agent voltage...did you mean +0.120 to +0.125? Because the max on my board is +0.500 Either way I tried both +0.120 and +0.125 and unfortunately they both failed too.

Is it my board? Do I have a dud? The thing is if it wasn't for not being able to enable the xmp profile, and oc the cpu, my computer runs perfectly, no problems at all. Its just that I have 3200mhz ram that is running @ 2133mhz , and I bought a overclocking cpu that I can't overclock! It bothers me that I paid extra for stuff I can't use. Nothing seems to help. It's funny but it almost feels like there's some option I haven't selected, or something. Like an "enable bios changes" switch that I haven't flicked, cuz any little change at all creates a boot fail. This is really trying my patience, what are my option here, I'm almost at the end of my rope?

OK it's working!!!!

Through the process of elimination I finally tried unhooking my usb storage devices and then enabling the xmp profile and Erika! It works!

Now to see if I can oc my cpu...
