Hello again Tomshardware users! I have been trying to overclock my PC for months now and after having given up hope for fixes, I am back asking more questions. If you feel you all need more info, please, don't hesitate to ask because I am begging for a solution.

My main problem that has been plaguing my PC for the past YEAR: when I change just ONE setting, such as changing CPU multiplier from auto(3.5Ghz) to 17.5(also 3.5 Ghz) the system simply wont post, BUT the fans and lights come on and the power buttons are nonresponsive which requires a unplug just to restart the PC, which sometimes puts it back into the dead state being unresponsive and no post...

SYSTEM SPECS: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/RLjcCJ PS the cooler is a H105 actually...

if it helps, when i have tried to change the speed and voltage of the cpu, when it actually decides to post it will say boot failure detected and when i look at the multiplier and voltage the BIOS changes it from my settings and puts it at 34,000 yes, 34 THOUSAND volts and multiplier. no matter what i do the system will not run on anything other than Gigabytes "Optimized Defaults", the odd thing is when i flash the bios to a new version, it will boot once successfully, but when i restart, it will not post and goes into the dead state again.

sorry for the long post, i am very frustrated and honestly thinking of never buying Gigabyte motherboards again because of these weird bios issues.

Hello, I have teh rev 1.1 and I use the AMD drivers, they have the auto tune and CPU Overdrive. If I try to manual overclock, I can only go up tp 3.48 GHZ+-, but if I use software auto overclock I can go up tp 4Ghz, but I have to say I use a big az cooler with a server rack fan that will literally cut off your fingers. Not the answer your looking for but hopefully will give you some lights.

I have the rev 4 and i cant even put it to 3.5Ghz manually or it no posts and sets the voltage to 34 thousand... Thanks for the reply! ill try overdrive and be back with the results...
