First off. Hi. Before you say anything let me explain myself a little bit. I'm a High schooler who just got tired of playing games on my old aging laptop. The laptop does me well but with school coming close my poor old laptop won't be able to handle any photoshop, video editing etc that I would need for High School. So where to look for a pc that could game and do school work that a broke teen like I could do. And I managed to finally found the holy grail. A I7-2600 paired with a GTX 650 on a MSI B75MA-P45 Mobo for only a small fee of $350. Seeing this amazing deal I freaked out and told my father that this is a deal I couldn't walk away. Link to PC(https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/sys/5150299041.html) I had $240 already and all he would have to pay would be the last half for the PC and a decent monitor. My father being hesitant wanting the best decided to look at pre builts at Frys. Him knowing only the basics of PCs asked his IT department and what they came up with was this. $730 pre built pc for "work" (http://www.frys.com/product/7721568?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG) A I7-4770 with no GPU no upgradability since the PSU is a 12 pin and the motherboard only supporting 12 pin PSUs. My dad wanting the best for me kept egging me on for this but I've tried to convince him that paying $730 for something that will brick eventually and can't be used for anything else than work is not worth it. Needless to say it's been difficult. The IT people in his department obviously don't know much since the first words they said to my father was "Oh if it's not wireless than it's old!!! All the new stuff is wireless" -_-. So I ask of you the wiser people who have machines made to play and work to help me convince him. I will soon show him the comparisons for the I7-2600 vs I7-4770 but you guys are my first line of defense. Help me convince him that my PC is worth it more WAY more than that Pre built. I am just trying to save him money and heart ache in the future. So please help me Android God and remember to keep the comments clean as obviously I'm showing this to my father.

TL;DR Convince my father that A $350 dollar PC with a I7-2600 and GTX 650 is better than the Prebuilt non Upgradeable I7-4770. Show him that just because the name says "gaming" doesn't mean it can't be used for work and will last longer.
Thank You.

I just googled more and found out that, so I see now. Ya, a replacement PSU alone if that one died from Acer would probably cost an arm and a leg.

About the best, GPU wise, you could do would be like a 750ti as the base ones dont' require any additional PCI'e power.

All in all, not a good PC. In that case, I'd take the used system (your link doesn't work btw for the used system).
Don't know what you mean by 12pin PSU or anything. That PC, with probably a new PSU could easily support a GPU.

In terms of photoshop and video editing, the new i7 and 12GB ram would crush that old system. They don't really use GPU for much and the onboard video would be fine.

Tell your dad to pay for that one in full and save your money for a better psu and gpu combo in the future, like black friday.

The motherboard only has a 12 pin PSU connector and there are none of them on the market. Here I'll send you the Amazon link and read the reviews to understand better.
