So,
As the title states im figuring out finally that in the last 10 months ive gotten 3 bad Gigabyte motherboards. :/ I recently beat my head off a wall trying every component and buying enough parts to build another full X99 computer...
Dead after 9 months, X99-UD3....
1 DOA X99P-SLI
1 died the next day X99P-SLI

Ive used gigabyte for years, but i couldent in good conscience buy another one.

Last night built the pc on a new MSI X99 Gaming Pro Carbon... Not a single hiccup, it works perfectly. Changed nothing but the motherboard and viola..

Im just shocked that 2 brand new boards were bad, but clearly that was the case. Uggh.. Hopefully others fare better than I did?. Its too bad as i liked the simplicity of the gigabyte boards without all the LED and other things i do not use. My case doesent have a window anyways..... Cooler Master Silencio 550..

QC is down in dumps lately across all manufacturers. Just last week a friend of mine got lucky with top notch Asus Z370 MB after 2 RMAs, only third one worked, other two were DOA. He is a very experienced builder and overclocker, no chance of him screwing it up.

That is unfortunate news. Really too bad manufacturers have let themselves slip if thats the case. Historically ive always looked to socket 2011-xx for stability as its supposed to be the "higher end" gear, i feel ripped off those 3 gigabyte motherboards chocked in a row given they were $250ish each boards. So far so good with the msi board though.. its too bad this is all turning into a crap shoot, ill gladly spend more money to get something better, but never again with gigabyte.

Yeah, honestly im with you there. My last 3 builds were gigabyte, i'd had bad luck with Asrock, Asus and MSI as well at different times since the 90's..... Im no champion overclocker, but i have been at this since 1993 and am quite meticulous with my builds and take every precaution. I admit im no-where near as proficent with newer operating systems such as windows 10 etc, but i know a bad/lemon board when i see one and alwayd go through standard troubleshooting etc. Check RAM, CPU, fans, SSD, HDD yada yada yada. I literally replaced Every component in the system including 2 different brand new sets of ram and 3 brand psu's and it all pointed to junk motherboards. Post issues, boot issues, stability issues ending in not even posting in the end. Always flashed at least 2 different BIOS versions before finally condemning the board. Man that just felt like alot of bad luck in a row to me, that being said after hitting up the forums i see its common now. :/
