Gainward GeForce2 Pro Overclocking

Seen a bunch of threads that partially address this, but figured I'd ask specifically for my card.

I've got the above mentioned card with the 4.5ns memory. I generally run it at 225/450, but I want to max it out. The software that comes with it can push it 235/470, but I know I've read reviews on getting it into the 500's with stock cooling.

First off, is there some other software besides this stock ExperTool that I should be using? Second, how can I tell if my card has reached its limit? I'm not seeing artifacts, and that doesn't worry me. What worries me is screwing up the card when I have no idea it's too hot. I don't think it's worth buying another heatsink to replace the stock one, so I just want to push the limits with standard cooling. My case is relatively cool as it is so I don't think i'd have too much of a problem, but then again I'll have no idea if my vid card is too hot or not.

I can easily run this thing at the 235/470, so what software do I use to push it higher? I tried using NVmax, but it doesn't like my computer. First off I'm running the Sis 735 chipset and second off it doesn't seem to agree with any of the detonator drivers I've thrown at it.

Thx. Just got an extra 550 points. I'm running it at 235/500 and will play more with it later.

What I can't believe is that some guy got 4628 points on this card. I'm getting around 4200. How in the world did he pull that off?! I'm going to have to play around with my bios. It's reporting that I'm running at 66 Mhz FSB in Mad Onion.

5534 3D Marks on Windows 2K
Got my retail Geforce2 Pro up to 250/500 albeit a little unstable
Runs well at 235/500 (235/250)
Just gotta goof around in the bios...turn off AC97 and useless stuff...Mostly just tweaking. 66Mhz in Mad Onion? That could be a possible error :)

My higher score might've been due to the faster RAM. I read the coding on the chips a while ago, and they were indeed the super fast 4ns chips from EliteMT. Do you know if the average GF2 Pro is 4ns, 4.4ns (GF2 Ultra), or 5ns?

What is your system configuration? 4200 seems awfully low for that video card and those speeds.

I have a Tbird @1.5 with SDRAM with a Geforce2 GTS-V @205/340, also scoring about 4200 3DMarks (2001).

Just a question, since we are on the subject, Is 3302 a normal score to get with a Geforce2 MX400? i got it at 205/199 without artifacts, or could it go higher with memory cooling?

Crashing takes on a whole new meaning at 9.8 m/s 😱

3302 sounds pretty good for that level of overclock but it depends on the rest of your system. My old Geforce256 SDR was clocked at 150/210 and scored 3400ish with my Athlon at 1.5 ghz but only about 2800 with my Duron 1 ghz. 21.81 was about the last nVidia driver I used with that card so there might be 100 to 200 points more available with 27.50 (but maybe not).

I've added cooling to two video cards. On the Geforce2 GTS-V, a value version of the GTS, there was no improvement, (none, zero, notta). On the Geforce256 I also didn't get any increase in overclocking but I did gain stability at the limit. Where before I added the ramsinks I could only run the memory at 210mhz for 20 minutes to an hour, after adding the ramsinks I could run all day at 210 mhz (with my case open).
