Gainward GTX 770 wont boot/stuck at boot logo when running on pcie2.0x16 on asus crosshair II formula..

Hello there dear former im stumped....
Gainward GTX 770 wont boot on pcie2.0x16 on asus crosshair II formula.. while when I switch to pcie2.0x8 slot it boots.... is there any way to make it works on pcie2.0x16 I mean except buying new motherboard,cpu and ram? tq

Do you have the latest BIOS and mobo drivers? Should work.
