Galax GTX 970 EOC waterblock

Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a waterblock that will fit a GALAX GTX 970 EOC? I've read up around the web that apparently waterblocks from reference gtx 670's work with reference gtx 970's but my cards are non reference so obviously have a different PCB layout.

Here is what my pcb looks like

Any experience, knowledge or links would be greatly appreciated

I don't see a possibility of custom waterblocks fitting on this custom galaxy PCB. Checking out the current waterblocks, the screw holes and not in the same places, which is a problem.

Yeah, seems as though this is the only pcb with the chip on the right side (depending how you look at it).

I can only suggest you to not attempt to, the GTX 970 cards don't tend to run very hot in the first place, so the water block isn't really needed.

I've pushed these cards and overclocked both of them to their limit. Playing shadow of mordor with the texture pack and max settings.
My bottom card is running cool at around 40°C....due to the nature of sli, the top card tends to get the shit end of the stick....the fans are sucking in the hot air of the below card. Seeing temps of 20°C-30°C above those of the card below. Current temperature in my room is around 19°C. In a couple months time it will be 30°C-35°C. Planning ahead and looking to watercool haha

Two cards, well that planning would have been worthwhile. I don't see it being a possibility unfortunately. Best you can do if upgrade your case for optimum airflow. Adding a backplate to both cards help, especially for the top card.

These cards come with a backplate. I'm using a NZXT Phantom 630 case. Cpu is water cooled, Have a Large 200m Fan at the front pushing air into the case, 2x 140mm fans on the bottom and 3 120mm fans at the top extracting air. Air flow is optimized...wll atleast I believe so

I've emailed Galax in regards to a possible future waterblock or if there are any known water block's which fit. I've also come across a thread where someone is using a Kraken G10 watercooling loop on this card.

I guess that may be my only option but I much rather have prefered to make my own loop rather then an all in one ugly looking thing haha.

EDIT: Kraken G10 doesn't even cover the VRM's and has a fan in its place...what's the point of that? lol

Oh right, thought they were an add-on. Ventilation sounds good though I would cable tie a fan to the HDD cage.

Can't even do that. Perspex over the complete area where the cards are mounted. There is a cutout for a fan to be mounted to the lower right but I can't see that benefiting the cards directly and would be more for the HDD bays etc lol

Should have purchased 2 reference 970's but then again, the overclokcing potential wasn't the same. Hmmm, fingers crossed a suitable block steps into the spot light lol

I can't really see so well but can you take a photo of inside your case, I can see some potential fan mounting locations but want to verify it in your case.
