Galaxy S5 Neo Lock Screen

It seems my wife's phone lock pattern has changed overnight, the same pattern she's used for over 4 years. I can get into the phone using the backup pin after 5 pattern attempts and waiting 30 seconds. I try to change the pattern after going to Settings>Lock screen and Security>Screen Lock Type but then it asks for the pattern. Is there any way I can change the lock pattern without doing a factory reset? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
