So this is an interesting question but, a question nonetheless. My Friend is willing to sell me a 970, I forget which version but it isn't the base version, for only 100 bucks. This sounds like a killer deal but there is some baggage. His old PC had a 970 in it but after about 2 years the 970 fried, so he sent it back, so far so normal, Nvidia sent him a new 970 and it worked for a few weeks before it practically caught fire. He sent that one back to Nvidia and they gave him another new one, that one would be the one that I can't decide whether or not to buy because on one hand that's an insane deal but on the other I don't want my PC to blow up. It could have been the fault of his old PC which was a Dell that he put a new psu in, or it could have been the 970's idk. Does Nvidia send brand new gpu's when you send a faulty one back? If anyone can give some input on this that would be very helpful. Thank you.
