i have recently bought sacred plus by ascaron, i want to ask if i can backup
my original game cd's since this game needs the playdisk to be inserted in
the cdrom and i dont want to have scratches on my original game disks

Even if you make a backup copy, assuming it's copy protected implies the
backup would not be accepted for playing the game (although install would
probably work).

You can try a virtual cd drive, loading an image of the cd. Daemon tools,
Alcohol%120 might do it.

Usually most people just go to someplace like megagames.com and download
what's called a "no-cd" patch. The "patch" is usually either a) a file that
replaces one of the games installed files or b) a small app that changes key
data within one of the installed files.
