Game Capturing

MSI 660 TI 2gb
Gigabyte GA-880gm-D2H
Adata SX900 256gb SSD
Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm

Whenever i try to capture gameplay, my ingame FPS just drops! I even use lagalith lossless codec, and my fps still goes below playable. I tried writing to my ssd and my fps doesnt change, i am installing windows 7 on my ssd now and trying it. If not should i go with a new processor + mobo or is a fx-4100 sufficient enough for capturing gameplay? I need to know because boxing day is tomorrow and I dont have much time left!

Your processor is too weak. Without a dedicated capture card you would probably need a good quad core i7 and if you plan to stream live then a hex core. I'm assuming 1080 resolution here. 640x480 would require less naturally. For more info You might want to browse the forums of whatever capture software you are using for build recommendations.

That processor is not even able to keep up with your GPU under normal circumstances, let alone using capturing on top.

You need to upgrade your CPU at the very least.

I was thinking i7-3770k.

either 720p @ 60fps or 1080p @ 60fps. What processor would be good. i have 400$ in the bank and i would need a mobo+processor.
