Hi Forum People,

I haven´t seriously gamed in years - the quarantine is a good time to pick it up.
However I´d like to give my PC an upgrade, and exchange the motherboard for a newer one as I have had a host of problems with it.

I am mainly planning on playing games that have been coming out up until this year. No plans to play anything fancier than that. Would it be advisable to replace the entire thing, or can I replace the motherboard and stick with these parts?

What it has got now:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz
RAM: 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3
Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 (MS-7917) (SOCKET 0)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (ASUStek Computer Inc)

And a few SSD drives, main one 232GB Crucial SSD.

As it stands, IMHO just need to add another 8gb and will be good for typical 1080p/60p performance despite ddr3 not being the best investment these days... Care to run a quick UserBenchmark and post the result to see how it compares to others?
