Question Game crashes after a few minutes of gameplay

I'm using a 1year old 1080Ti. Just updated to the latest GPU drivers 440.41 as of this time. After I load up a game, it crashes after a few minutes. Which is kinda weird. This has been the first time that this has happened to me. At first I thought there was a short happening within my casing, but checked, double checked and triple checked: there wasn't any problem. Next I thought it was the new driver, so I tried installing the older 440.20. It managed to make me play a little longer (probably an extra 1-2 minutes) then crashes again. Next I thought it might be a lacking Windows update. I updated to the latest, but still no go.

I got to note the following during the crashes:

1. The screen would just turn off and unresponsive
2. Sometimes, the whole PC would just go to sleep/power down when this happens, unable to be woken up by the power button or any keyboard button.
3. Noticed some artifacts when the screen goes dark
4. An "out of video memory" warning opens.

Any ideas?

The thread looks like you've got a PSU issue. How old is the unit?

Better yet, list your specs like so:

Also, have you tried reverting to the driver version that you knew was working without any issues from the system/GPU?

About 3 years old now. Yeah, was thinking of a PSU problem too.
CPU: i5-8400 (1yr old)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming (1yr old)
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LED Red 16GB (8x2) 2666mHz (3yrs old)
SSD/HDD:
1TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD (3yrs old)
4TB Seagate Barracuda HDD (2yrs old)
1TB WD SSD Blue NVME (1yr old)
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080Ti Gaming X (2yrs old)
PSU: Seasonic S12II 620w 80+ Bronze ATX 12V Non Modular PSU (3 years)
Chassis: Deep Cool Matrexx 55 RGB with 6 RGB Fans (1/2 yr)
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Yeah. Have reverted to the previous GeForce drivers. Still crashes giving the same error. :/

Could a PSU present with such issue? I will be upgrading to a new i5-9600K with a DeepCool Gammaxx GT cooler. Probably need a new PSU?
