I'm using a 1year old 1080Ti. Just updated to the latest GPU drivers 440.41 as of this time. After I load up a game, it crashes after a few minutes. Which is kinda weird. This has been the first time that this has happened to me. At first I thought there was a short happening within my casing, but checked, double checked and triple checked: there wasn't any problem. Next I thought it was the new driver, so I tried installing the older 440.20. It managed to make me play a little longer (probably an extra 1-2 minutes) then crashes again. Next I thought it might be a lacking Windows update. I updated to the latest, but still no go.
I got to note the following during the crashes:
Any ideas?
I got to note the following during the crashes:
- The screen would just turn off and unresponsive
- Sometimes, the whole PC would just go to sleep/power down when this happens, unable to be woken up by the power button or any keyboard button.
- Noticed some artifacts when the screen goes dark
- An "out of video memory" warning opens.
Any ideas?
